Tasman Bay Herbs is celebrating its 21st birthday having started on the 6th March 1996 when Don Grant and the late Yoka De Houwer bought a 2-hectare kiwifruit block in Dehra Doon Road, Riwaka. They had a dream of supplying the best fresh cut herbs and salads to restaurants and retailers and today supply 60 discerning supermarkets from Warkworth to Queenstown with a range of 35 different varieties.The operation is mainly hydroponic and no harmful sprays are used.
Deep Roots Organic Market Garden
Description: Deep Roots is an organic market garden in Riwaka which has been in production for over 25 years, growing fruit and vegetables on just over an acre.The soil is tended with organic and biodynamic principles and Deep Roots is one of 3 small businesses growing produce on the site. We have examples of most organic growing methods such as composting, worm farming and using green manure crops.
Danielle has been a gardener for 17 years and has worked in all sort of roles from maintaining the grounds of Government House to working on a box scheme that had 800 customers.
