Beekeeping for beginners

Saturday 8th April 2017

Description: There's a resurgence in interest in beekeeping as a productive hobby, and this workshop will address some of the questions that beginners have before they get started.
Weather permitting we will look into some hives and explore the life of the honeybee, Apis mellifera. We'll also talk about essential gear. If you have access to a bee suit or bee veil please bring it. There will be some available to use.

Your speaker: Lynda Hannah is a herbalist, naturopath, writer, and natural funeral facilitator
who has been keeping bees for about 7 years, for pollination, honey, and other hive products such as beeswax and propolis that she uses in herbal preparations.
