Lacto-Fermentation ~ make your own jar of Sauerkraut

Local fermentation freaks Lynda Hannah and Irma Jager will share their knowledge and
experience about this ancient art of preserving that was practiced before the days of vinegar... During the course you will make your own jar of sauerkraut and also take home recipes for several other lacto-fermented vegetables and fruits. Lots of time for questions and answers.
Each participant will need to bring the following:
- one 1 ltr Agee preserving jar (like the one in the picture, for sale at op-shops or else new at
the supermarket)
- wooden pounder / clean meat hammer
- sharp knife & cutting board

Your speakers:
Lynda Hannah is a herbalist, naturopath, writer, and natural funeral facilitator who grows organic medicinal and culinary herbs on her small farm on the outskirts of Motueka.

Irma Jager lives with her family on a self-sufficiency farm in the Motueka Valley. She has a passion for growing, preparing, preserving and eating (!) her home-grown foods. She is New Zealand’s only certified Primal Health Coach and has a wealth of practical knowledge about eating a healthy, whole-food diet.
