Rob and Barbara will take you on the journey from what our ancestors were possibly eating for 3 million years, what happened 10,000 years ago, and where we are now: obesity, heart disease, diabetes. Let’s have a look at demystifying the current food trends, from LCHF, Paleo,and Ketogenic, that have risen up to challenge the food pyramid in the last few years,
and coming up with strategies and diets that are practical for today.
Your speakers: Rob and Barbara Knowles have been local organic farmers for 30 years, always interested in nutrition and healthy (tasty) eating. Their attention was focused on using food as a preventative medicine when their children were faced with challenging health problems. Lucy is now studying nutrition at Otago and David is developing a Ketogenic website in Australia.
For the last few years the Knowles’s have been operating a stall at Motueka Sunday Market,
“Food Nut”, transforming their organic produce into tasty, healthy and nutritional goodies.
