A Nelson Institute talk : Porcelain and China

Rose Kerr, retired Keeper of the Far Eastern Depatment, and specialist in Chinese ceramics, Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
An illustrated talk about her connection with China, and with the beautiful porcelain made there. She studied in Beijing for a year during the last year of the Cultural Revolution and later worked for 25 years at the Victoria and Albert Museum as Keeper of the Far Eastern Department. The V&A has more than 25,000 pieces of Chinese ceramics and Rose made these her special study. She still works as a consultant in Asian art for museums, universities and individuals all over the world, and visits China regularly. In 2015 she was made an Honorary Citizen of the porcelain city, Jingdezhen.
