Nelson Historical Society - Albion Square - Mahinga Kai,

Albion Square - Mahinga kai, Government Centre, Heritage Landscape. The land in the central city we now know as Albion Square was important to Maori and, since the 1850s, has played a significant role in the governance of the Nelson region. Steve Bagley, the Department of Conservation's Historic Heritage advisor, gives an illustrated presentation of the square's history and uses the remaining heritage fabric of the square to tell some of its stories.
