Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 14th October 2017
Dust off your kilt; shine your dancing shoes, and do whatever you do with your sporran - it’s time to party the Scottish way!
Ceilidh dancing is for all ages, loads of fun and the dancers are interspersed with entertainment from the Celtic Pipe Band and Helen's Highland Dancers.
The basic ceilidh dance steps are easily learnt with each dance taught briefly and then "called". This year we have an experienced caller from Auckland, Innes Jephson, coming especially for this event.
The dress code for the night is informal to full highland dress - it's up to you - but best to wear your dancing shoes.
This hugely popular, “good old fashioned Scottish knees-up” sells out every year, so don’t miss it.
We provide a haggis supper and sandwiches can be purchased during the evening.
There will be a bar serving wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks and of course whiskey! Plus, there are raffles, DVD’s for sale from the bands sell out shows, and even a traditional kilt to be bought at the auction. Eftpos is available.
This is a fundraising event for the Celtic Pipe Band.
Door sales only until all tickets sold - doors open at 6.30pm.
