Print Is Not Dead!

Sunday 22nd April 2018

It’s the coolest little print shop around and we’d love you to come and check it out!  The Armarie Room is a newly formed fine art and letterpress printery at Founders Heritage Park.  We’ve had a busy summer establishing our new premises and obsessing over heavy, antique printing equipment.  Now the printing presses are humming and the smell of ink is wafting through the building.

The Nelson Heritage Festival is a great time to launch the printery but also to acknowledge 175 years of print history in the Nelson/Tasman region. The Armarie Room will be marking this occasion by offering short guided tours of our printery. We have ex-industry and master printers joining us to guide you through the cultural legacy of fine press printing. There will also be a chance to roll up your sleeves and use one of our vintage hand presses.

Spaces limited to groups of six.
Children need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
