The concert is the highlight of the Ceol Aneas Irish Music Festival. Headlined by Bríd Harper and Dermot Byrne, direct from Donegal, Ireland, this is a rare chance to experience Irish traditional Music at its very best.
Bríd is hailed as one of the leading exponents of Irish traditional fiddle playing today. She is an enormously respected musician and has won numerous prestigious fiddle awards.
Dermot is revered for his virtuosity on the accordion. His seemingly effortless playing, combined with great subtlety, and a faultless ear, makes him one of the great accordion players of his generation.
Joining them onstage are, from Ireland, Maggie Carty known for her unique voice and banjo accompaniment and Máirtín Staunton on flute. Australians Beth McCracken, flute, Jody Moran, whistle, Rob Zielinski, fiddle and Kate Burke, an exquisite singer and a powerful and imaginative guitarist, complete the lineup.
This concert guarantees an evening of spellbinding music that traditional music fans cannot afford to miss. Expect lively Irish music and “craic” with song and toe tapping tunes.
