Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Monday 8th-Saturday 27th October 2018
What do artists think about when they create a work?
Eight established artists with a national and international presence have collaborated with writer Michelanne Forster to reveal the stories behind their paintings, photographs, objects and installations. Forster has created fictional responses to each artist’s story, which are displayed alongside the artworks.
Curated by David Ryan and Jo Kinross, this is art and literature butting heads - in the nicest possible way.
EXHIBITION OPENING - Mon 8 Oct, 5.30pm
Everyone is welcome to meet the artists and to hear about the concept behind the show from curators, David Ryan and Jo Kinross, and writer Michelanne Forster.
Proudly presented by the Nelson Arts Festival with support from Arts Council Nelson and NMIT.
