Richmond Library: Tasman Women in the 1850s

Thursday 27th September 2018

Join us to hear Motueka Library library assistant Storm Nathan talk about the adventures and heartbreak experienced by Tasman women in the 1850s.

From the simple tale of Mrs Bryant who moved to the region in the 1850s, to the heartbreaking stories of Mary Wallace (nee Coster), Storm brings to life the trials and tribulations experienced by pioneering women of the time.

Motueka Library librarian Janine Gillions will also provide snippets of social history information to help set the scene.

This talk is part of our Suffrage 125 celebrations – celebrating 125 years since New Zealand women gained the vote.
