Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Friday 14th December 2018-Sunday 27th January 2019
You can see a musical, a drama, a dark comedy, a Shakespeare, a Christmas movie and, of course, a famous dog movie during this summer's programme of Miracle on 34th Street, Oliver, Dr Strangelove, The Dawn Patrol, The Taming of the Shrew and Courage of Lassie - at various parks around the region.
With the intention of making the Summer Movies more accessible to a wider audience, some screenings will be shown with English subtitles turned on. Please check the schedule.
All parks are flat, grassy surfaces and have accessible toilets, except Fairfield and the Salt Water Baths.
Gather a group, a picnic, contemplate a blow-up couch and join us from 7:30 pm to play giant board games, enjoy the park and watch the regions’ glorious summer sunsets.
Movies usually start just after 9 pm. Individual listings appear for each movie on this site.
Wrap up warm (you could even wear your pyjamas) and please pocket a torch to light your way home.
Movies will not screen if it is raining. If the weather is marginal on the night, please text 'Is it on?' to 021776623 after 7.30pm.
