Vegetation monitoring on Molesworth dates back to 1944 when Lucy Moore established early photo points.
Since then, many attempts have been made to look at change over time on Molesworth using a variety of methods and motivated by a range of purposes. Within the last 30 years focus has come on the effects of cattle grazing on indigenous vegetation. Simon will provide an overview of the most recent results and talk about longer-term trends, as well as discussing some of the inherent difficulties in monitoring over such a vast landscape.
