Cara Bryant and Eva Secker as part of New Zealand Music Month at Elma Turner Library

Saturday 11th May 2019

Cara and Eva are friends and classmates at Nelson Girl’s Prep and students of the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts where they learn violin from Juliet Ayre and study piano with Mary Ayre and Sarah Lewis. They play in the school orchestra with other prep and college friends and also the string group Schola Musica. Cara and Eva both passed their grade 5 performance violin last year with distinction and have been playing together as a violin duo since 2017. When they're not playing music together, they enjoy horse riding and looking after cats and their sibling pet rabbits.

Today they will be playing music by Vivaldi, Handel, Bartok, and Dvorak, accompanied by Eva's father, Adrian Secker.
