SHADBOLT – McCORMICK – “A NEW KNIGHT FOR A NEW DAY.”
Mayor Tim Shadbolt of Invercargill is now “Sir Timothy Shadbolt,”with all of the attendant responsibilities !
“Not bad for a Westie with a few protesting convictions under his belt,” says the new Knight.
“ And pretty hard on me !” says Gary McCormick, who see himself as the real worker in the comedy team.
Following a sellout tour of twenty-three golf courses and Clubs ( the “heartland of New Zealand,”as McCormick puts it) in an attempt to understand why Jacinda Adern and Labour won the last election and not their own Pull Yourself Together Party, Gary McCormick and Mayor Tim Shadbolt have had to concede that the better woman won on the day.
Mayor Tim was one of the first to congratulate the new Prime Minister, when he was elected.
“I admire her compassion and understanding. The recent tragic event in Christchurch and her handling of it,has been the subject of world acclaim.”
“We’ve had to recalibrate our show,in view of the new world in which we live,”says McCormick, “but there are certain values we can all cling to and we will be honouring those.”
