Richmond Library: Smartbots Workshop - mBot and mBot Rangers

Monday 15th July 2019

Dive into the world of robotics and learn to code, solve challenges and create your own project.

This is a project-based workshop that will help young people develop an understanding of robotics and computational thinking skills.

Beginners will learn with mBot, while advanced learners will learn about the mBot Ranger.

We'll use Scratch-based mBlock software for both robots and learn to use sensors, play with mechatronics to make the robot move and to tackle challenges using the Robocup themes: Rescue and Theatre.

Please note that knowledge of Scratch is recommended.

This workshop is part of the Smartbots robotic project running throughout Tasman, Nelson and Marlborough supported by Curious Minds He Hihiri I Te Mahara, and is in kind partnership with Tasman District Libraries.

This workshop integrates science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

For keen kids aged 10-14 years. Space for 16.

Cost: $20 for Richmond Robotics members, $32.50 for non-members.
