Richmond Library: Freshwater Fish of Tasman

Monday 9th September 2019

This month we’re focusing on the environment at Richmond Library. We’ve organised a range of informative talks which are designed to broaden your understanding and awareness of environmental issues.

In this talk, Tasman District Council’s Senior Environmental Resource Scientist, Trevor James, talks about freshwater fish and the latest discoveries of the cryptic creatures of our waterways.

Forest and Bird write that, “Most New Zealanders know about our whitebait, and our eels, but we actually have more than 50 species of native freshwater fish. They are secretive and fascinating, but sadly they are also in serious trouble.” Find out more about them with Trevor James.

Trevor’s talk is free and everyone is welcome.
