Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Monday 21st October 2019
Multi award-winning Canadian-born New Zealand singer-songwriter Tami Neilson uses her powerhouse voice to blend country, soul and rockabilly into her signature high-octane performances.
This is a rare opportunity to experience Tami up-close and personal in an acoustic show, accompanied by her brother and longtime co-writer/collaborator Jay Neilson. As two fifths of Canadian country group The Neilsons, Tami and Jay supported the likes of Johnny Cash from a very young age.
With a wealth of stories from the road, the pair are set to bring smiles, laughs and tears as they tell the tales behind some of Tami’s biggest songs, as well as exclusively premiering brand new songs from her forthcoming album.
“A red-hot honky-tonker, somewhere between Patsy Cline and Wanda Jackson with perhaps just a little bit of Peggy Lee sophistication.” RNZ
“A fire-breathing R&B belter on her own terms.” ROLLING STONE
