People Places Lecture

Friday 20th September 2019

Nat is a director of the award-winning practice Cheshire Architects – a practice well-regarded for its ability to tie together strands of culture and identity, heritage and socio-economic potential into accomplished built forms. Cheshire projects range in scale from small, bespoke objects through to the masterplanning of inner-city blocks. Recent projects include the ongoing design of Britomart; the repurposing of City Works Depot; and the design of a new, multi-use hub at Morningside, now occupied by a range of interesting bars and restaurants.

Jasper is a director at the well-regarded Christchurch practice Sheppard & Rout, which has received several of the country’s highest architectural awards. Jasper has worked on many complex projects, including the Christchurch International Airport Expansion, Burwood Hospital, Lincoln University’s School of Landscape Architecture, Stranges Building and the BNZ Centre in central Christchurch. In post-earthquake Christchurch, Jasper’s ability to design buildings that incorporate themes of identity, memory and culture has been indispensable to the city.
