Dii Moffatt, Dunedin based painter considers movement as a metaphor for change. Her paintings on foil question the obvious, and reveal the un-noticed; movement as a metaphor for change.
Her paintings isolate the movements of subjects and/or objects. By doing so, new sequences are created which reveal an inseparable relationship between object and hyperobject. By applying abstraction, she tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way, likes to involve the viewer in a manner that is sometimes physical, and believes in the idea of subject following form in a work.
