Motueka Library: Community Quilt Project

Wednesday 17th June-Monday 14th September 2020

We are so impressed and amazed by the success of our community effort under Level 4 Covid-19 lockdown.

We want to remember this time in a meaningful and lasting way with a community quilt. Simply stitch a word or image relating to your experience of Level 4 lockdown on to a piece of A4 sized fabric, leaving a 3cm border all the way around, and drop it off at your local library. We’ll stitch all the pieces together to make an amazing community quilt which will be exhibited across the Top of The South / Te Tau Ihu.

Any kind of stitching is welcome – embroidery, applique, random wild stitching – just go for gold!

Anyone of any age and any stitching ability can take part.

Keep an eye out for stitching workshops and bees in your local library.
