Children of the Poor - Piece of Work Productions

Saturday 12th-Saturday 19th September 2020

Piece of Work Productions present Children of the Poor by Mervyn Thompson for New Zealand Theatre Month.

Following the formative years of a disillusioned adolescent, Albany Porcello, the play comes face to face with desperate poverty, misery, crime, and the contempt of Presbyterian Dunedin in 1903.
Based on the autobiographical novel by John A Lee, this production draws heavily on Brechtian conventions, and will offer an exciting and unique experience for Nelson theatregoers.

Workshopped at the New Refinery ArtSpace from 25th Aug.
