Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 28th-Sunday 29th November 2020
The annual Top of the South Film Festival presents the best short films produced in our stunning region during the past year, from drama to documentaries, horror to comedy, thriller to romance, music videos to science fiction. All screening at Motueka's State Cinema.
This year we introduce our Young Top of the South Filmmakers screening event for the first time. Be sure to catch the best work from our Yr3-Yr10 students at 2 pm on Saturday, November 28.
Then at 6 pm on Sunday, November 29, watch the Gold Reel screening, the best short films from adults in our region. Preceded by a fun "red carpet" event at 5 pm with kai and beverages.
The Festival is proud to celebrate our 6th year of showcasing local film making. During this short time, we've established ourselves as one of New Zealand's most promising and unique young film festivals. The TS Film Festival focuses on film submissions from Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and Kaikoura residents and gives these aspiring regional filmmakers an opportunity to premiere their films on the big screen.
