Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Friday 4th September-Saturday 3rd October 2020
When Claire Hughes suggested to Ewan McDougall that they collaborate on a Virtual Reality Exhibition he leapt at the chance. McDougall is known for his expressive paintings of people and animals. They make perfect material for a multi-media artist like Hughes.
Hughes describes her work with McDougall as “more than a 3-D reproduction of an artwork, it will use McDougall’s characters to create a new interactive experience.” Viewers will see the paintings and don a VR Headset and become immersed in the vibrant world of the figures as they cavort in virtual space.
The Virtual Reality element of the exhibition will be available to experience when NZ is on Alert Level 1.
