But how do you translate the scientific recommendations into a tasty local diet in New Zealand.
Let Gileen, from Food Sense, show you how to create a weekly meal plan, which is tasty, economical and satisfying. She will cook some tasty plant-based foods and suggest ingredient swap outs so you can use what is in your pantry. She also has tips for using local seasonal food and reducing food waste.
Gileen has studied human nutrition and has co-ordinated a food rescue project in Nelson. She is an enthusiastic cook and is serious about eating healthier, reducing food waste and saving the planet’s resources for future generations.
