All our lives we’re told to treat books with care – and for heaven’s sake, don’t draw on them, fold the pages, spill your cup of tea on them, damage the cover, get sand inside!

Well now, Motueka and Takaka Libraries are giving you the chance to give in to your wildest book-altering fantasies.

Enter our Book Art Competition and receive an old library book (or use one of your own) to cut, rip, glue, collage, paint – do whatever you want to!

Entries are open between 5 and 29 January. Entries will be displayed at Motueka and Takaka Libraries from 2 until 19 February.

There are three age categories:

Up to 12 years

13 – 18 years

Adults

There will be prizes for each category winner.
