Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 24th-Sunday 25th April 2021
Low impact dyeing gives the opportunity to create unexpected colours and imprinted designs using sustainable practices.
During this hands on workshop you will use local plants and found materials to create subtle colours on cellulose (cotton & linen) and protein (wool & silk) fibres and fabrics. The techniques you learn are suitable to be applied to clothing, accessories, furnishings, or incorporating into patchwork, quilting and felt making. The eco dyed yarns yield beautiful soft and harmonious colours, these can be used for knitting, crocheting and embellishments.
Discover the magic of leaf prints using the ‘bundle’ technique on silk and wool.
