After revisiting some French history of settlers and missionaries, we will focus on Father Antoine Marie Garin- his journey to Nelson, his work in the area and his legacy. He was a French Catholic Marist Priest, missionary and educationalist, fluent in Te Reo Maori, and assigned to the region as far a Marlborough, West Coast, Tasman and Nelson.
