Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 24th April 2021
A light project in connection with ANZAC Day commemorations.
On the eve of ANZAC Day, the palms will be lit up representing the Red Poppy. Projections relating to our history will play on surfaces inside the park.
This is an opportunity to gather in ANZAC Park in the dark of the evening of 24 April to remember that which is important to each of us. Perhaps memories of a relative whose body was left in other soil. Perhaps thoughts of those affected by past or current conflict in their homelands. Perhaps consideration of a daughter or son or friend who served in a recent conflict. Perhaps in recognition of those who followed the path of peace. Perhaps a broad acknowledgement of everyone who has been affected by the progression of War and the search for Peace through history.
