Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand

Nelson is a maritime community, and this is a great family event to showcase the importance of the seafood industry. This is the 20th Blessing of the Fishing Fleet so please come and support it!
Fireworks to kick off the Blessing of the Fishing Fleet on Friday 14th May. Grab a spot along the Nelson waterfront or Port Hills. Expected to start around 6:15/6:30pm.
On Saturday we begin the ceremony at 12pm at the Seafarers Memorial on Wakefield Quay.
After the ceremony there will be exciting displays like rescue helicopter, Coast Guard vessel displays, best dressed vessel parade, fish auction, and just $3 fish & chips / $2 BBQ mussels!
For vessels wanting to join the vessel parade:
*Vessels should arrive around mid-day for the event.
* The Blessing of the Fleet will be broadcast on 107fm on the day.
*Vessels need to listen on VHF Channel 70 on the day.
*There are best dressed vessel prizes!
12pm to 2pm
