Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 12th February-Saturday 26th March 2022
Friends, families, kids and adults – come along to Richmond Library to create a building from cardboard for our Handmade City.
Inspired by the work of artists Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, we encourage you to imagine buildings to sleep, eat, play and work in. What do they need? What do they look like? How big are they? Or how small? Do they have turrets, verandahs, windows, drawbridges, ladders, staircases, roof tiles, chimneys or some other construction of your own invention? Release your imagination and help us to create the city of our dreams.
All materials will be provided. Free. There is room for 16 people at a time to work on their cardboard buildings in the Constance Barnicoat room at Richmond Library.
Come to one Saturday session, or more – it's up to you.
These are self-guided workshops. Children, please bring an adult to lend a hand.
Participants age 12+ will need to bring their My Vaccine Pass to attend.
If you don’t have a My Vaccine Pass, you’re welcome to create your cardboard building at home and bring it along to the library by the end of March and we’ll add it to the Handmade City.
Our Handmade City will be displayed in all its glory at Richmond Library throughout April.
