Tapestry Weaving - Design to Weave Workshop tutored by Marilyn Rea-Menzies

Friday 12th-Sunday 14th August 2022

Lock in a long weekend from 12th - 14th August 2022. This is a fantastic opportunity to take your artistic abilities to the next level under the expert guidance of practicing artist and master weaver Marilyn Rea-Menzies. Marilyn has designed this workshop, especially for you to gain a rich experience and a deeper understanding of how to approach your own ideas and creativity.

This three-day workshop commences by developing your personal process of using photographic images or your own simplistic drawings into designs that can be interpreted into woven tapestries or applied to other textile practices that interest you. By exploring and developing dynamic designs suitable for interpreting into textile art, or woven tapestries you take away the skills and ideas that will inspire many future projects.

There will be time to warp up the frame looms and commence weaving your unique design, these can be taken away with you to complete in your own time. Everyone will work at their own level and pace. A small frame can be provided for $20, along with a glorious selection of colourful yarns included in the $10 small materials fee.

Suitable to all levels incl. beginners.
