Eco Dyeing Fabrics and Fibres Naturally with Plants workshop

Saturday 10th-Sunday 11th September 2022

Low impact dyeing gives the opportunity to create unexpected colours and imprinted designs using sustainable practices.

During this hands-on workshop, you will use local plants and found materials to create subtle colours on cellulose (cotton & linen) and protein (wool & silk) fibres and fabrics. The techniques you learn are suitable to be applied to clothing, accessories, furnishings, or incorporated into patchwork, quilting and felt making. The eco-dyed yarns yield beautiful soft and harmonious colours, these can be used for knitting, crocheting and embellishments.

Discover the magic of leaf prints using the ‘bundle’ technique on silk and wool.

Tutor: Colleen Plank, recognised for her experienced tutoring and vast technical knowledge of textile art techniques.
