South Island Show Offs 2022

Saturday 30th July 2022

Originating in the United States, Competitive Cheerleading is a rapidly growing sport in New Zealand.

It has been recognised for the next Olympic Games as a sport due to the fact it is based on gymnastics tumbling, dance and stunting. Not simply jumping up and down with pom-poms, cheerleaders are real athletes.

Apart from the athletic and performance skills acquired through the sport, competitive cheerleading provides athletes with an opportunity to develop life skills such as a strong work ethic, discipline, teamwork and communication

Cheerleading attracts all genders between the ages of 4 - 40 and you will be impressed by how they flip and tumble and lift and throw.

If you have watched the Netflix program 'Cheer' and want to see how it's done then come along.
