Ngā Whetū O Matariki Community Light Art Show

Saturday 25th-Monday 27th June 2022

(One of the 70+ events being held during Tuku 22 Whakatū Heritage Months.)

Nelson City Councils Arts Team brings art to your neighbourhood in a special light art show at six locations around Nelson over three nights.

A light art showing the nine Matariki Stars will be projected onto trees in each park and an explanation of the meaning for each Whetū (star) will be provided to viewers.

Saturday 25 June
5.45-6.30 Te Ata Reserve, Atawhai
7.15-8pm Betsy Eyre Park, Brook Street

Sunday 26 June
5.45-6.30 Ranui Reserve, Stoke
7.15-8pm Fairfield Park, Nelson

Monday 27 June
5.45-6.30 Murphy Street Recreational Reserve, Toi Toi
7.15-8pm Wolfe Reserve, Washington Valley

Wrap up warm and walk down to the closest location see this free Matariki show.
