Author Talk - Mary Garden

Saturday 24th September 2022

Mary Garden grew up in New Zealand but now lives in Australia. She is a freelance journalist with a PhD in journalism, and the author of two award-winning books, The Serpent Rising: a journey of spiritual seduction and Sundowner of the Skies: the story of Oscar Garden, the forgotten aviator.

The focus of her talk will be on Sundowner of the Skies, a biography threaded with memoir of her father, a pioneer aviator. It was shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s History Award 2020 and a second edition released in 2021.

Join Mary as she talks about how and why this story came to be written, and the impact it has had. Books will be available to purchase thanks to Page and Blackmore Booksellers.
