Nelson Youth Choir presents their 2023 concert, Songs for Summer, with a range of songs full of the vitality, passion and colour of summer.

The programme includes fun excerpts from the Jekyll and Hyde medley by Frank Wildhorn, arr. by Ed Lojeski, and takes us from the heights of Ad Astra by Jacob Narverud to the tender melodic love song, Song of Ruth, by David Childs. The choir change up the mood to Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat by Frank Loesser from the musical Guys and Dolls, and sing through a series of solos, duets and other full choir pieces.

Together with their Music Director Zoe Dee and accompanist Anne Shearer, the Nelson Youth Choir shares with you songs of joy, hope and love that capture the colours of summer and prove that 'In summer, the song sings itself' (William Carlos Williams).
