Scottish born folk blues jazz singer songwriter Isabella (Izzy) Miller Bell Aka Ma Bell makes a return to Nelson and Tasman for a not to be missed night of superb acoustic sounds.
Drawing on her Celtic connections Ma Bell dons the mantle of Madame Tragedie to tell her story of the blues. A story which began in 1949 in the once shipbuilding Clydeside town of Greenock.
Coming from a family of singers and theatre folk Ma Bell is the real deal, an authentic well travelled blues artist with a back pack full of songs and stories that will lift you up to the dizziest of heights and cast you down to the darkest of nights, leaving no stone un-turned. Under a Celtic Moon will feature original compositions earmarked for a forthcoming album 'Glory Road' alongside soulful stirring Celtic Airs and superb jazz & acoustic blues.
Izzy will be joined on stage by two of the South's finest jazz blues musicians featuring John Bevin on piano /vocals with Michael Kime on upright bass alongside Tasman songstress Debra Lee who makes a special guest appearance.
On Sunday 3rd December you can catch Ma Bell & The Connections at Fairfield House in Nelson.
