Wild Basket Making Workshop

Saturday 20th-Sunday 21st January 2024

Wild Basket Making two day workshop - Contemporary - Sculptural - Traditional tutored by Anita Peters. Commencing with the fundamentals of basic basket construction before exploring the exciting challenges of incorporating ‘found and foraged' materials gathered from the local environment to create sculpted baskets of every shape and form. Cane and willow are available to make a traditional basket if preferred.

This workshop is held at the glorious location of the Historic Fairholme Gallery and homestead in East Takaka, Golden Bay. On-site accommodation may be available in the homestead also, campervan parking in the meadow, email info@nztextileexperiences for information.

Anita Peters is a highly experienced basket maker and mixed media artist with over 30 years experience, she will gently guide you through the steps to create interesting baskets to be cherished for many years.
