NEW Harakeke Fishing Baskets - Kete Kupenga Weekend Workshop

Saturday 6th-Sunday 7th January 2024

This delightful kete the Kupenga is akin to the fishing basket...woven with lots of space in and around the harakeke, woven specifically to harvest kumara and shellfish.

Weaving is a living art form, passed down from the ancestors and a strong symbol of the survival of Maori culture. The kete is used for everyday life.

This is a fun workshop, all levels of weaving experience welcome including beginners.

Tutored by Yvonne Hammond in the scenic location of Inangahua.
