Portraits for Peace photo exhibition

Monday 24th June-Saturday 13th July 2024

Portraits for Peace: comprises 45 photographs that showcase individuals from over 27 countries, all based in Te Tau Ihu, Aotearoa. Participant nationalities include Tongan/Somali, Chilean, Scottish, Pakistani, Omani, Afghan, Swiss, Palestinian, Irish, New Zealand/Māori, Jordanian, English, German, Peruvian, North American, French, Belgian, Czech, Buthanese, Burmese, Nepali, Colombian, Argentinian and Greek.
Through these photos we send heartfelt thoughts to the world and call for an end to violence, particularly in Palestine which deserves freedom. Children, our future, often bear the brunt of war and should be protected.

This project aims to spread a positive message and express solidarity with the Palestinian community and with all countries that are in conflict. We want those people to feel heard, and know there are many people worldwide standing with them. It also serves as a reminder to be grateful for the safety of countries like Aotearoa and to connect with the realities of others.
