The tours which travel the length of the spit stop to climb one of the huge dunes and for refreshments at our lighthouse keeper’s cottage in the shadow of the lighthouse. Whilst on the Lighthouse reserve we have time to explore, soak up the atmosphere and see the lenses which were once in the top of the tower. There is also a pouwhenua placed by the local iwi to indicate their connection to the spit, and nearby a panel explaining some of their legends.

Muffins and hot drinks are included in the tour price and lunches can be provided for a small extra charge if we are on the Spit during the middle of the day. Our guides are passionate about the spit and are committed to ensuring that you get the most out of your experience.
