Author Talk: W.F. Stubbs

Saturday 31st August 2024

W.F. Stubbs is the author of 'The Tasman Journey' and 'Two Left Feet'. Books set right here in Aotearoa New Zealand, and self-produced and self-published through various manual labouring jobs. He chose to live in his car in 2018 as a way to avoid rent and power costs, and his story was recently featured in The Nelson Mail. Come and listen to him talk about life as a writer without a house to live in, and the inspiration he gets from developing his relationship with his natural surroundings wherever he chooses to park up.

“A brilliant book. …so many beautiful scenes. There’s a real grounding sense of discovery in Two Left Feet, and that’s what Stubbs captures so well in his writing.” - Maggie Tweedie, RNZ, Culture 101
