What's working and what's not in NZ education

Sunday 1st December 2024

- What are the changes being made to NCEA?
- Should literacy and numeracy be the top priorities?
- Why are Māori students 'under achieving' and what should we do about this?
- What supports are available for students with specific learning needs?

Working as an educator with young people in New Zealand presents unique opportunities and challenges and one of the few constants is change. Hannah will talk about some of the issues facing education systems throughout the world today as well as some of those more localised in Aotearoa - New Zealand. Hannah will try to decode and unpack some of the competing priorities in the secondary education system and the work going on in schools to adapt to the changing needs of New Zealand society and its young people.
