Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Sunday 3rd November 2024
'Roots So Deep' is a four-part documentary that explores whether an underutilized grazing method, mimicking historic bison movements, can alleviate farmer debt, rejuvenate soils, rebuild habitats, and reduce carbon. Historically, cattle have been viewed negatively for the environment, but this series questions if they might actually aid in preventing climate change.
The event will feature two episodes from the series, which is praised for being inspiring, honest, and data-driven, with a positive and humorous tone. A team of 20 scientists conducted a decade-long study on five pairs of neighbouring farms, comparing regenerative grazing with conventional farming. The compelling results highlight the positive impact of adaptive grazing on both ecosystems and farmers' finances.
