With Emily's background in the film industry, and hearing the incredible stories from adventurers in the store every day, The Nelson Film Festival was born. 2024 was our inaugural year, showcasing talented local (amateur!) filmmakers on epic adventures all across our stunning Nelson Tasman region.

You don't need to be a professional filmmaker, just a passionate storyteller hoping to inspire people to get out and explore the outdoors! With two sell-out screenings last year and epic prizes valued at over $6000 dollars, we can't wait to do it all again in 2025.

Entries will open October 2024 and close May 2025. Amateurs welcomed and encouraged!

The shortlisted films will be announced in May 2025, and shown in June 2025 with multiple film screenings in Nelson. An awards evening will be hosted, with the winners announced on the first night of our screenings.

The film festival will be filled with door prizes, giveaways, competitions and epic films to inspire you and your family!

Tickets sales will be available in 2025 and listed here when released.
